Ahhhhhh!!! Summer is finally here! *Whoop* *whoop*
You know what that means?
Summer dresses, flipperty flops, shades and ICE CREAM! Beer gardens are a must of course!
I actually had to go and get a suntan lotion from Boots! Always use protection ladies and gents!
SP50 for double precaution ha!

But you also know what this means right? Shaving those pins, I don’t mind really, it usually takes around 5 -10 minutes.
I shave or wax depending on the time and situation but for my legs – I tend to shave them. I do use a shaving cream, though I don’t think it matters if it is catered to a male or female, they seem to both do the job well.
I have seen how some people use hair conditioners as shaving cream – another life hack, and I have to admit – it does work quite well and leaves my skin quite soft afterward as well – very handy on days when you realise you run out of shaving cream!
But I came across another remedy where we use Olive Oil instead!

Yes, you read that right! I am intrigued by this because I know how good Olive Oil is for health i.e cooking, and I also use it to moisturise my hair which I will talk about more in another post.
However, I am quite impatient, I grabbed my Napolina Olive Oil bottle from the kitchen and poured some into a bowl and off to the bath I go.
Firstly, I sprayed warm water from the shower on my legs, or you can use a hot towel if you like to open the pores.
Then I slathered the olive oil on the left leg first, massaged it in and proceeded to shave.
THE VERDICT
To be honest, I don’t know what to expect, I know Olive Oil is great for the skin as well as it is a natural moisturiser but I have to say it didn’t hurt the skin, quite a close shave as well.
I used Olive Oil on my left leg and Dove conditioner on my right leg to do a comparison, it turns out that my left leg is much softer and smoother than the right leg where I used the conditioner!
mmm…excuse me while I continue to stroke my leg whilst typing this and no, I am not weird!
Precaution – be careful when you are doing this because it is oil after all, and the tub gets really slippery during and after using it, so please don’t fall! Safety first, no one wants a bruise before going out now, do we?
I think I may have to start using Olive Oil for shaving now, and you don’ have to use a lot of it really! Such a versatile little oil and I’m sure most of you use it for cooking so pennies saved!
Love to hear how you all get on with it – if you are feeling adventurous to try it or have tried it!
Enjoy the weather folks!
Much love,
Courtney xo
