MALTA

Malta is like nowhere else I've been. Tiny Mediterranean island nation with massive history - think ancient temples older than Stonehenge, fortified cities, stunning coastline, and a weird mix of British and Italian influences.

I explored Malta's main islands - Malta itself, Gozo (quieter and more rural), and Comino (famous for Blue Lagoon). It's small enough to visit multiple places in a day but diverse enough that you won't get bored.

Perfect destination if you want Mediterranean sunshine, historical sites, good food, and English-speaking locals without the crowds of Italy or Greece.

Quick Malta Travel Tips

Visa: UK/EU/US/Canadian/Australian passport holders get 90 days visa-free in Schengen area. Do always check your government website first for the latest visa details before visiting.

Money: Euro (€). Cards widely accepted. Reasonably priced compared to northern Europe.

Language: Maltese and English (both official). Everyone speaks English - Malta was British until 1964.

Transport: Buses are cheap and extensive. Rental cars useful for exploring. Very small - drive across main island in 30 minutes.

Best Time: May-October for beach weather. Summer (July-August) is hot and crowded. Spring/autumn ideal.

Food: Mix of Italian and Middle Eastern influences. Fresh seafood, pastizzi (pastry snack), rabbit dishes.
