HeyWhatsupCourtney | Travel Guides, Foodie Finds & Hidden Gems

hidden gems, foodie adventures & travel guides

Travel

Hey! I'm Courtney, and these are my travel guides based on real experiences, mistakes I've made, and places I genuinely know.

I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia and I currently live in Newcastle, UK, and I've travelled across Asia, Europe, and beyond. My guides come from genuine knowledge, either from living somewhere or visiting multiple times and really getting to know a place.

I'm here to help you discover new Countries, cities and get you excited to travel and help you be a better tourist.

What makes these travel guides different?

Lived Experience: I grew up in Indonesia and live in the UK, so my guides for these places come with proper local knowledge, not tourist assumptions.

Multiple Visits: I've been to Japan three times, Lake Como twice, and I'm constantly exploring more of the UK. These aren't one-off trip reports. And visited Multiple countries in Europe and Asia and North Africa plus Kenya.

Honest Opinions: If something's overrated or not worth your money, I'll tell you. If I made a mistake (visiting Fushimi Inari at midday = nightmare), I'll share it so you don't repeat it.

Practical Information: Real costs, transport details, where I actually stayed, what I actually ate. No vague "find a nice hotel" advice.

No Fluff: My guides are long because they're comprehensive, not because I'm padding word count. Every section has useful information.

More destinations coming as I travel!
