Hidden gems, Foodie adventures & Travel guides

UK

Are you travelling to the UK for the first time? Or heading back to the UK and visit more cities? My detailed UK Travel Guides will help you to decide which city you like to visit next and figure out what to do there. Explore Cities in England, Wales, Scotland and/or Northern Ireland off the beaten path, as well as enjoy popular destinations, hidden towns, foodie destinations, and the places locals actually visit. Plus practical advice on transport, weather (bring layers), and navigating British culture.

Quick UK Travel Tips

Visa: Most visitors get 6 months visa-free. Check gov.uk for your nationality. And be warned that now most nationalities must apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). Do always check your government website first for the latest visa details before visiting.

Transport: Trains connect major cities (book in advance for cheaper fares). Buses are cheaper but slower. Consider a car for countryside/Scotland.

Weather: Unpredictable. Bring layers, waterproof jacket, and low expectations. Summer is 18-22°C, winter is 2-8°C.

Money: British Pounds (£). Cards accepted everywhere. Tipping: 10-15% in restaurants if service isn't included.

Language: English, but accents vary wildly. Geordie (Newcastle) and Glaswegian (Glasgow) can be hard but they will normally tone it down for you. You will be fine!
