London
I visit London regularly from Newcastle (2.5 hours on the train), so these London Travel guides are based on actual recent visits, not outdated information or one-time trips.
London is massive, overwhelming, expensive, and absolutely brilliant. Yes, please do the touristy stuff, British Museum, Tower Bridge, Big Ben - but also explore neighbourhoods, eat at markets, find the hidden spots, and experience London beyond the Instagram highlights.
I'm sharing practical stuff such as which areas to stay in, how to use the Tube without going bankrupt, where to eat well without spending £50 per person, and what's genuinely worth your time versus what's overhyped.
Quick London Travel Tips
Transport: Oyster card or contactless payment. Tube is fastest. Buses are scenic but slower. Walking is free and you'll see more.
(Always stick to the right if you are not walking on the escalator in the Tube, the left is for walking)
Budget: Expensive. Budget £80-100/day minimum. Mid-range £150-200/day.
Stay: Central London is expensive. Consider Zone 2 areas near Tube stations.
Food: Avoid tourist trap restaurants near major sights. Borough Market, street food, pubs do good affordable meals.
