Happy New Year!!
I think I may have just recovered from my food coma.
Boxing day sales done (it was quite a workout might I add) and mince pies all eaten.
If you are in London for Christmas, one of the best thing to do to beat the January blues or to get into the Christmas spirit in December is to head to Winter Wonderland.
Every winter, they take up most of Hyde Park from early December till 2nd of January. It’s freaking massive!
It’s a winding maze of Austrian food stalls, wooden beer huts, fairground rides all set to a festive Christmassy soundtrack… and a heck of a lot of screams from the rides.
As you wait in line to get in, anticipation building as you catch a whiff of mulled wine and hot dogs as you walk in through the gate with the crowd.
Suddenly it’s Christmas all over again! Yayy!
Forgive me! I didn’t take my good camera with so these were shot on the Samsung S7.
I’m a child all over again! I’m all for the rides and wandering around the stalls having a nosey, walking around the stalls sampling churros and ‘English’ sausages – they are just so thick and juicy don’t you think?
Can’t deny their food and mulled wine is pretty much overpriced but that is to be expected.
I love these bad boys! They make you dizzy with pleasure! Not fast enough though.
Or if you fancy getting spooked – try the haunted house! It changes colours!!
I remember this game stall when I was in my early teens, I won a stuffed leopard so big that I had to check it in to take back to Jakarta. It was worth it though.
My favourite ride ever, my favourite horse is the winged purple ish one!
Take a gander in the Alpen Hotel fun house
This has to be the scariest ride ever, I seriously almost peed myself going down this pole. Forget taking pictures, I was trying to put my heart back in place!
If rides are not your thing, they also have an ice skating rink!
♫ ♫ Sleigh bells ring
Are you listening
In the lane
Snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We’re happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland♫
Dang it…oh well. I’ll be happy to sing this all of January!
